Mmmm...sweet corn. My summer food of choice. Until I moved to Texas the 1st time. Ugh! I can still taste that chewy, nasty cow chow they were trying to pass off as food fit for human consumption. I was so desperate for corn that first Texas summer that I actually had my Mom FedEx me a dozen ears of Silver Queen from a road-side stand in Maryland. I'm deliriously happy to say that Lone Star corn has come a long way since then. Now you can get good sweet corn in any of the grocery stores. It's still not Maryland corn. And I'm still kicking myself for not eating more of that deliciousness when I was 'home' last month. But it'll do. And that makes me very, very happy.
